  1. Online English teaching apps to make money
  2. Apps for all teachers and educators
  3. Mobile Apps for English teachers
  4. Apps for English language learners.

This list will answer your most common questions before teaching English online using your mobile phone.

WIll also guide you in choosing the right online English school that uses an app as their platform.

Best apps you can download to make the most of your online teaching even if it’s not just English language.

And, most useful English teaching apps for teachers to use.

I have to say that there are literally hundreds of teaching apps out there.

Speaking apps, Listening apps, Free ESL apps, and so much much more.

But I did the research for you on the best English teaching apps. Based on best reviews, ratings as well as my own experience. As well as a few of the ones I’ve been using for years.

Let’s begin

How Can I Teach English On My Phone?

I’ve discovered that the majority of folks who wish to teach English from home have no prior experience.

Fortunately, some of these schools don’t require candidates to have any formal training or a graduate degree as long as they can communicate well in English.

And, in my experience, most students simply want to talk to someone so that they can improve their English speaking skills.

In general, the majority of the schools on this list are still looking for native English speakers with expertise. Others, on the other hand, do not.

As a result, it is an awesome chance for non-native English speakers to begin teaching English online.

Especially for college students who need to supplement their income while studying.

So how can you teach english using an app?

  • Research and Learn which of these apps suits you. (Requirements, location, convenience, etc.)
  • Prepare all the necessary documents. (Diploma, Resume, Mobile phone, etc)
  • Download the app and create an account.
  • Apply and fill out all the necessary information. If you want to learn how to get hired fast in online English schools. You can see my previous post on that subject.

English Teaching Apps To Make Money

While the majority of these companies allow teachers to simply converse with learners.

Some schools continue providing students with exactly what they want.

And most students, in my experience, just wanted to chat to someone so that they could improve their English speaking skills.

1. Palfish

online english teaching apps

I’ll begin with palfish. I know they’ve made a lot of changes recently, but you can still give it a shot.

I used to work for them a few years ago, and it was a blast.

They pay on time, and I’ve made a lot of new acquaintances as a result of it. One of the best teaching applications available. You may read my review here.

2. The Talk List (Peers Edu)

You only need to create a profile to teach, much like Palfish.

They do not require any prior experience or a college diploma. Native and non-native teachers are both accepted.

The hourly wage is roughly $10. Adults make up the majority of their students.

(Recently, the app is no longer available. And is now called Peers edu. I haven’t tried the app yet. I will update you soon.)

3. English Ninjas

english teaching apps for language learners

This school, which focuses primarily on Turkish students, demands expertise and certifications.

You can test it out if you’re interested. It’s a school based in the United States that pays $10 per hour via PayPal.

4. Boxfish

english teaching apps the wise half

Another China-based company that looks for Native Speakers only. But they don’t require a degree as well as experience.

They pay 10$ per 25-minute class. Fast and reliable internet is very much required.

I suggest working with a back up stable pocket wifi.

5. Tandem

english teaching apps

Here’s another interesting app. This company is based in Germany.

By the name itself tandem, students can find a tandem that speaks their target language so they can chat with them.

They teach multiple languages. If you’re a bilingual you can earn more than the regular teachers.

6. Liulishuo

Referred to me by a Chinese friend, I remembered I was accepted here.

The app itself is in Chinese, She needed to translate it for me. The application process was not that hard.

I never got the chance to actually start teaching because I was busy then.

They accept native and non-native speakers. Experience is preferred but not a requirement. I will try to apply again and make sure to update everyone.

7. VIP talk

This company accepts native and non-native speakers. Although they require degree holders with experience.

I found out that they still accept non-degree holders as long as you speak fluent English and have a passion to teach.

Pay varies on your ability. If you have experience with VIP talk. Feel free to comment.

8. Tutoring Lab

(App is currently unavailable)

They accept native and non-native English Speakers.

They accept degree holders or college students.

Pay starts $10- $14/ hour. Learners are mainly Korean students. Payments are sent monthly through Paypal.

9. Nice Talk

Nice talk only accepts native English speakers. Experience is not necessary as long as you speak English fluently.

Pay starts at $10/hour. But then again they pay by the minute so, even if you just have a 15-minute class you still get paid.

I noticed that Nice talk looks a lot like VIP talk. So I guess if you’re non-native you should apply to VIP talk instead. Paypal is their mode of payment.

10. Cambly

This company has been around for years. And although they have mixed reviews I still put them on the list. Some teachers have good experience with them.

Some don’t. I just noticed that they have seasons where there are a lot of students and there are times that they have few.

But still, it’s a good way for native English speakers to chat and earn some money as well.

What are the best apps for teachers?

There are numerous advantages to being a teacher or tutor in today’s world. I cannot emphasize how fortunate instructors and kids are.

Teachers can choose from hundreds, if not thousands, of apps to download. But how can you know which ones are worth downloading?

I can also relate to individuals who are not as tech-savvy.

Most of the time, apps are overwhelming. You don’t want any more useless apps clogging up your phone’s memory.

So, I’ve compiled a list of apps that are excellent for guiding instructors in general, not only English teachers.

11. Chegg Prep ( AKA StudyBlue)

However, there are still certain apps designed specifically for the needs of language learners.

A good english learners app should focus on a student’s weak areas. Plus enhance his strength.

This is a collection of both new and old teaching apps. You’ll note that only a handful of apps have been around for a long time.

It can signify one of two things. They either have a large number of users, or were fully established because people found them beneficial.

Although some of these companies may have mixed reviews, there’s no harm in giving them a shot.

You might find one that is ideal for you and your way of life.
