China. Whenever we hear China the first thing that would usually come up to our minds is Chinese food, Made in China, and The Great Wall. But, this country has so much to offer than those things and Alibaba. There are so many things that we don’t know. Especially with the best places to visit.

And, since I just gave birth recently I never had the chance to travel last year. So my husband did the traveling and he thinks the place was great. For so many years, Guilin and Yangshuo have been two of the many places in China that has spectacular landscapes.

Here are the places he’s been and his thoughts about it. While I have to google most of the information because my husband enjoys the trip and didn’t mind what the tour guide was explaining. (oh dear)

The Li River

It was, of course, the main attraction of Guilin. The tour won’t be complete without visiting this very unique place. With the stunning million years old karst limestones, It was listed as one of the 15 best rivers for travelers by CNN. My husband noted that it was a long but an amazing cruise ride. You must take the cruise boat from Guilin to Yangshuo to be able to admire the beautiful nature found in this river. As you can see, my better half smiles with all his heart not to mention his camera shyness.

Seven Star Park-

My husband took a lot of photos of this splendid landscape, And I mean a lot. I knew he will get mad if I will post only one so let’s keep it a secret. He was in awe of this. After taking photos you can explore the downtown Guilin and see this incredible camel and elephant-like hills. I’m still in doubt when he said he’s very shy in front of the camera.

The four lake water system

Here’s another place he thought was awesome in many aspects. The view, The landscape, The night lights, the ferries and much more. The cruise ride is one of the most popular Evening Tourist attractions in Guilin, be sure not to miss it.

Reed Flute Cave

Although my husband was not a big fan of this place, He still took his obligatory photos. I think it looks remarkable. He told me it was visually appealing because of the bright colorful luminescence and not too mention how good it smells. Maybe my husband just misses the real nature aura. Like that of those cave scent and bat pee. I still think this picture is majestic and Instagram-worthy.

Daxu Ancient Town

Here’s another spot you should never miss. This ancient townhouse and old-stone pavement is a must-see. He said it gave him the chills at the same time a little nostalgic as it gives him the old kung-fu movie feels. If you’re a fan of old Asian movies you’ll know what he meant. And there he goes again. Smiling like a grade schooler (cutie).

FOOD

He constantly mentions how great the food was. I’m not sure of other people’s palates when it comes to Chinese. But we love Chinese food. Authentic Chinese Cuisine. And, because he seriously devours it, no picture was taken. Nope, nada, not a single shot of bowl. The reason why he never had a single picture was that by the time he remembers taking it, he’s done eating. He doesn’t like clicking his phone while everyone else is busily instagraming the food.

I’ll make sure Guilin is on my travel list.  The next time you want to visit the land of the red dragon. You should think there’s more to China than Beijing and Great Wall. Yes, they are absolutely great. But there’s also Guilin and Yangshuo are a must-see. It’s worth-traveling as well as its affordability. These top Guilin attractions are the reasons why Guilin is the next big thing in China.
