How to make money blogging for beginners

Ways To Monetize Your Blog

Advertisements

When you’re just starting a blog the best way to make money from your blog is through advertising. Many big bloggers use this way to monetize their blog.

But, not all bloggers like this way of showing ads on their blogs. And I totally understand where they’re coming from. Some readers do not like ads appearing while they’re reading, while some don’t mind if they do.

That’s why if you write compelling and worth reading posts, readers won’t mind those ads I guess. But not all readers are the same. Then again., This is the best place to start making money.

Of course, when you begin you don’t have thousands of readers immediately. You need to work those numbers up. So a good choice is through Google Adsense and Media.net

Way back 8 years ago I have this old blog that I made and used just to express my random thoughts and feelings. In the beginning, I had no plans of monetizing it. Then I thought maybe a few hundred dollars won’t hurt. So I applied for Google Adsense and made a few hundred bucks. Not bad for a newbie.

Now you have to remember to not apply if you haven’t written any posts on your blog. You won’t get approved. Even if I’m the one who decides who’ll get approved, I won’t accept new blogs with nothing to offer to readers…. yet.

So make sure to apply when you’re already at least 30 days or even 3 weeks. But, make sure you already have written at least 10 posts. Once approved then you can now place ads on your site or just download a plugin and let the plugin help you.

On the other hand, Media.net has been used by many big bloggers, you probably know already. Like Michelle Schroeder-Gardner of Making sense of cents. They have great support and they consider new bloggers too.

As months pass, your blog are now gaining readers and increasing page views. You can now start applying with other advertising companies such as Adthrive, and Mediavine,

Affiliate Marketing

Although I placed advertisement as the number 1 way to make money with your blog. Affiliate marketing on the other hand, can help you make money in no time even if your blog is just a month old. This is definitely true. So, What exactly is an affiliate?

Affiliate marketing is when someone promotes a product or a service and earn a commission when readers end up purchasing something. Some affiliate companies would pay bloggers when people visit their site and join, and or if readers purchase a product through your link.

Some people don’t even need a blog to do this. You can do that. But, what makes a blogger better? When you buy a product, you don’t just buy immediately right? (Well maybe for most of us)

We often check online with reviews and we make sure of legit reviews not just someone who wrote a comment and leave 5 stars and says “Great Product!”.

That’s where the bloggers come in. The first few articles we often read on google searches are blog posts! So there.

Here are some Affiliate companies I love. Choose which one suits your niche. Most of them have a lot of products that fit all sorts of blogs.

Sell Your Skills

Instead of just focusing mainly on looking for jobs on your skill. Why don’t you create your own blog and sell your skill instead. Do you enjoy proofreading? How about becoming a Freelance VA or a Social media manager? Are you a good writer? Techy person?

If you have something good to offer then go pitch for different companies while blogging and sharing your skills to your readers.

You’re slowly building and creating a portfolio and you’ll be surprised on how many clients pouring in and looking for your service.

Sponsored Posts

Many bloggers often get offered to do sponsored posts on their blogs. Which is one way bloggers make money. This is how bloggers work with different brands. These companies will pay you to promote their product and or services. This may be not that easy for new bloggers.

Remember, this process may take time, Companies look for bloggers who already have built their blogs over time. But you also have to take note that you don’t accept offers that won’t fit your niche or won’t help your readers. What’s the point of promoting a product you yourself are in doubt of using right?

Sell Your Products

Yep, you heard that right. Some people go straight to starting a store, while some start a blog then start a store. Although both ways are effective to make money, many people can prove that. But starting a blog is like building friendship to your customers and friendship lasts.

When you write something about a product you really like, and you know people will benefit from it, you blog about it! and people will automatically buy because they know you love your product. It builds trusts that will lasts. Giving you loyal readers and buyers at the same time.

Getting the money rolling.

So you now have a blog but how do you start the money rolling? Through traffic of course. To get those money rolling and start earning. People need to see your helpful posts.

You can either use any social networking sites you are very much used to like Facebook and Instagram. But, Pinterest for me made a huge difference and it’s absolutely free. You have to check how I skyrocketed my Pinterest traffic to 1 million in 2 months

And just like everyone else I am juggling my family, chores, and work. So thankful to whoever invented Tailwind. This Pinterest scheduler is something that any business people, bloggers should have because it automates your pins (pins btw are poster-like pics that you’ll use to promote your blog posts to send traffic to your blog)

And another thing, if you are struggling with your blog post and have no time or money yet for a proofreader to check on your works. You just need to download Grammarly. It’s free to use and such a life saver.

Okay so since the pandemic started, my blog earnings went down dramatically and there’s only one course that helped me a lot and it is so super simple to understand and use, It’s Stupid Simple SEO by Mike Pearson. If you want to really make blogging your main source of income this is the only course you’ll ever need.

So, there you have it. These are just a few of the many ways you can monetize your blog in no time. I genuinely believe that blogging can help people live their dreams. I suggest you start right and start with a prayer. God bless!
