I found hundreds of chocolate truffle recipes all over the internet and everything is special in their own way. But if you are looking for last-minute desserts for unplanned visits or friends coming over.

You can easily make this in advance without all the complicated process but looks amazingly fancy and expensive and of course not to mention the exquisite taste.

If you really want to make your truffle stands out and has an unforgettable taste. You want to look for dark chocolate that is at least 75% or higher.

It gives that distinctly deep but more indulging taste, But you could always settle with semi-sweet chocolate chips. It still tastes absolutely delish. So here’s our own version of an easy chocolate truffle recipe

Ingredients:

12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips / or any dark chocolate bar in 75%

42 g of butter = 3 tbsp

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)

1/2 cup chopped almonds (or any nuts you love)

Orange Liqueur or Brandy for special occasions. But any flavor you like would be fine as well

Process:

  1. In a bowl, add semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate with butter. Melt them over a pot. Preferably simmering and not boiling. With water not touching the bowl. Mix occasionally.
  2. When completely melted remove from the heat and add cream and mix with a whisk.
  3. You can add orange liqueur or brandy and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate for one hour or until it is fully set.
  5. Once chilled. Scoop the mixture and quickly round them like balls in your hands . Place them in a sheet or baking tray and chill them again before covering them.
  6. Remove from the fridge and cover them with your chopped almonds, cocoa or melted chocolate. Serve and enjoy.
